What is this?
cs-sop.org is a platform intended to help CS PhD applicants.** It hosts a database of example statements of purpose (SoP) shared by previous applicants to Computer Science PhD programs.
How to use it?
Below are three views of the database: two views with applicants organized by application years or their subfields, and another spreadsheet-like view. You can click into each person’s card to check their statements and additional advice if provided (with a 📗 ****icon). You can also create filters or sort the database as needed.
If you are currently or have enrolled in a PhD program, we would appreciate your contribution! You can share your statements via the form below: Submission Form
This pool of statements may not be representative of the full range of statements of successful applicants. Please do not be discouraged if your profile looks different than those shown here. And if you are a previous applicant with a background underrepresented in this database, we particularly welcome you to submit!
